TERMS & CONDITIONS
Online Ground School Terms and Conditions
1. ACCEPTANCE
By purchasing or accessing the Online Ground School, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Users must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement in their jurisdiction.
3. EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE
The Online Ground School is intended solely as an educational resource to assist students preparing for Canadian helicopter pilot training.
Successful completion of the course does not guarantee:
- issuance of a pilot licence;
- eligibility to write Transport Canada examinations;
- employment;
- successful completion of flight training; or
- passing any examination.
4. TRANSPORT CANADA REQUIREMENTS
Transport Canada licensing requirements may change at any time.
Students are solely responsible for ensuring they satisfy all current Transport Canada licensing requirements.
Foothills Helicopter Training Academy is not responsible for regulatory changes made after course purchase.
5. PAYMENTS
Payments are securely processed by Paddle. Foothills Helicopter Training Academy does not store or process your credit card information. Payment processing is subject to Paddle's terms and privacy policies.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
6. REFUND POLICY
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on the initial enrolment fee for online ground-school purchases, provided you have accessed less than 20% of the course content at the time of your refund request. This usage cap is necessary because the course can be completed in a short period of time.
Refund requests must be submitted to Paddle, our Merchant of Record, at paddle.net within 14 days of your order date. See our Refund Policy for full details.
Monthly subscription fees are billed in advance and are handled according to Paddle's subscription and refund terms. Cancellation stops future billing; any refund of subscription fees is determined by Paddle.
7. SUBSCRIPTION
The monthly subscription provides continued access to the learning platform and hosted student records.
Students may cancel at any time. Upon cancellation:
- access terminates;
- hosted student records and course progress may be permanently deleted;
- restoration of deleted progress cannot be guaranteed.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All course materials, videos, presentations, quizzes, manuals, graphics, illustrations, and documents remain the exclusive property of Foothills Helicopter Training Academy.
No material may be copied, reproduced, distributed, uploaded, shared, recorded, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.
Student access is for individual personal use only. Account sharing is prohibited.
9. ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
Students agree to complete quizzes, assignments, and examinations honestly.
The Academy may suspend or terminate access if academic misconduct is suspected.
10. LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
A Letter of Recommendation is issued only when all Academy requirements have been successfully completed.
Recommendation letters will only be issued within thirty (30) days of the student's scheduled Transport Canada written examination date.
The Academy may require proof of the examination booking.
11. DISCLAIMER
While every effort has been made to provide accurate and current information, Foothills Helicopter Training Academy makes no warranty regarding the completeness, accuracy, or continued validity of course material.
Students should always verify current regulations using official Transport Canada publications.
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Foothills Helicopter Training Academy, its owners, instructors, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the use of the Online Ground School.
This includes, without limitation:

13. INDEMNIFICATION
Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Foothills Helicopter Training Academy, its owners, instructors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or legal expenses arising from misuse of the platform or breach of these Terms.
14. TECHNICAL AVAILABILITY
The Academy will make reasonable efforts to maintain platform availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted access.
Maintenance, software updates, or third-party service outages may temporarily affect availability.
15. PRIVACY
Personal information is collected only as necessary to administer the course and maintain training records.
Payment information is handled by Paddle and is not stored by Foothills Helicopter Training Academy.
See our Privacy Policy for full details.
16. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada.
