FOOTHILLS HELICOPTER TRAINING ACADEMY

STUDENT ENROLMENT & COURSE POLICY

Online Ground School

WELCOME

Thank you for enrolling in the Foothills Helicopter Training Academy Online Ground School. Our goal is to provide a flexible, professional learning environment that prepares students for success in Canadian helicopter flight training and Transport Canada examinations.

Please read the following policies carefully before enrolling.

COURSE FEES

Your enrolment consists of two separate charges:

  • A one-time enrolment fee.
  • A monthly Learning Management System (LMS), document management, and course hosting subscription of CAD $20 per month.

Refunds on the enrolment fee may be requested within 14 days of purchase through our Merchant of Record, Paddle, provided you have accessed less than 20% of the course content at the time of the request. This usage cap is necessary because the course can be completed in a short period of time. All refunds are processed in accordance with Paddle's refund policy.

The monthly subscription remains active until cancelled by the student.

MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION

The monthly subscription provides continued access to:

  • Online course material
  • Student progress tracking
  • Hosted training records
  • Document management
  • Examination records
  • Course updates

The subscription may be cancelled at any time. Upon cancellation:

  • Access to the course immediately ends.
  • Student progress records are permanently deleted.
  • A new enrolment will be required to regain access.

Students are encouraged to complete the course before cancelling their subscription.

PLANNING YOUR ENROLMENT

Students should carefully consider the timing of their enrolment.

Under current Transport Canada requirements, students must:

  • Complete the Online Ground School.
  • Successfully pass the Foothills Helicopter Training Academy final examination.
  • Complete the required minimum flight training before becoming eligible to write the applicable Transport Canada written examination.

For both the Private Helicopter Licence (PPL-H) and Commercial Helicopter Licence (CPL-H), students must complete at least 25% of the required flight training before writing the Transport Canada written examination.

Students who complete the Online Ground School well in advance of meeting the flight training requirements may need to maintain their monthly subscription until they become eligible to write the Transport Canada examination.

If ongoing subscription fees are a concern, students are encouraged not to enroll too early in their training program.

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

Foothills Helicopter Training Academy will issue a Letter of Recommendation only after all applicable requirements have been satisfied.

The Letter of Recommendation will only be issued within 30 days of the student's scheduled Transport Canada written examination date. Students should not expect a recommendation letter to be issued months in advance of their examination.

The Academy may request reasonable documentation confirming the scheduled examination date.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY

Students are responsible for:

  • Scheduling their own flight training.
  • Ensuring they meet all Transport Canada eligibility requirements.
  • Booking their own written examination.
  • Maintaining any required subscriptions until all eligibility requirements have been met.

The Academy cannot guarantee when a student will become eligible to write a Transport Canada examination.

CHANGES

Course content, policies, pricing, and subscription fees may be updated periodically. Existing students will continue to receive access under the pricing agreed to at the time of enrolment unless otherwise stated.

By enrolling, students acknowledge that they have read and understood these policies.
